I love that my clients let me share their love stories. They remind me that each tale of love is unique, each happening in its own time. Not unlike the jewelry I create.
He knew from their first date that he would marry her—a true story of love at first sight. To keep himself fresh in her mind, he started sending her quotes, beginning each one
with a letter of the alphabet that would eventually spell out “Will You Marry Me?”. Seriously true, seriously romantic.
A short amount of time passed, and their relationship grew rapidly. As often at this stage of life, change is rapid and inevitable, and life- changing decisions need to be made. She– finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington. He– confirmed acceptance into the prestigious Accademia Costume & Moda graduate program in Rome, Italy. Not wanting to leave the love of his life across the globe, he knew it was time to make that proposal he had been planning from the time they met.
As with most responsible young men, he came to me with a budget in mind and an idea of what kind of ring she would like. She is drawn to rose gold, and he had two inherited diamonds he wanted to work into the design. Perfect. I opened my CAD program and went to work, knowing that the ring had to live up to the well-thought-out proposal.
After guiding him through the purchase of the center diamond, we set the two inherited diamonds on each side, creating a classic 3-stone engagement ring. With her finger measuring just size 2 1/2 (smaller than most people’s pinky finger!), the proportions of the three diamonds fit the design and her finger perfectly. I love how the elegant scroll carving we added down the shank turned out, and the rose gold looks perfect on her skin tone.
He “decoded” the secret message by telling her to reread all of the quotes he had sent to her, this time paying extra attention to the first letter of each…she said Yes! The proposal went off without a hitch, and within weeks the couple was married and living in an apartment just steps from the Trevi fountain. What a way to spend year one of the rest of your lives together!
I have known this young man since he was a boy, as his parents are long-time friends. I feel honored they visited me to design their rings and that they shared their sweet story with us.

We added interest to the shank by adding a slight amount of floral carving. Bellissima!
We incorporated the inherited diamonds on each side of the larger diamond he purchased for the center stone. This created a proportionate three stone diamond engagement ring that fit perfectly on her delicate finger.
