An upstairs jeweler, private jeweler, independent jeweler, even “the miracle man.”
In 2004 when I opened K. Alan Smith Jeweler, some said to me, “How on earth will you get customers to come into your store? Why not locate your store street level or in a mall?”
Things in retail were starting to change at that time. The industry was becoming more about the “the product” and “their brand” and less about their actual clients. And although they were successful at it, I saw an opportunity for a unique experience. A way to make that special purchase outside the “click and ship,” cookie-cutter, mass-produced inventory environment. A private jewelry salon for those seeking a full service and personal experience when making their jewelry selection.
K. Alan Smith, Jeweler was born. And guess what? My business model has worked. Thanks to long-time clients, new clients, friends, and family, my business has grown for 16 years in the downtown Seattle corridor. I have remained in business through many challenges; two location moves, office space shortages, a recession, and a pandemic. And it saddens me to watch my fellow neighbors board up their street-level storefronts and windows.
Once again, I recognize a need—a need for a better, more pleasant environment that my clients can come for a visit.
My new location is less than a 5-minute drive off I405, conveniently situated on the first floor of the Parkade Plaza building. With FREE parking steps from my salon door! It is a low-stress, pleasant way to shop for unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry–with YOU 100% in mind. Just minutes from Seattle and Bellevue, tucked away in the quiet, clean Kirkland suburb.
I am excited that visiting me will be a much more comfortable and pleasing experience. Whether your needs are for a meaningful piece of jewelry, appraisal services, jewelry repair, or you are just feeling the need to browse around my salon, I will be here to greet you. Same personal experience, a lovely new location.
Jewelry is Personal. So is my Approach.
Hope to see you soon!
