Description
Garnet. One of my favorite gem substances in that it projects such special reaction of light and occurs in such a wide range of colors, although most associate red/reddish browns to Garnet.
This pair of pear shaped Garnets are an incredible purple color–perfectly matched in color and cut as they were faceted in the Idar-Oberstein cutting region of Germany. The stones weigh 4.72 carats combined.
In designing these earrings, I wanted the emphasis on the garnets. However, I wished the earring’s lobe section to be different from most drop earrings you see out on the market today. So, I went a tiny bit abstract with the diamond layout. It works very well, and the connecting rings are affixed to provide slight articulation, causing those accurately faceted garnets to really twinkle. All around, these are a fantastic pair of earrings!
