For Real! This beautiful 1.33 carat blue sapphire is from Montana! USA born.
The sapphires from Big Sky Country are corundum, gemologically, the same as sapphires from Africa or India. They occur in really distinctive tones and degrees of color mix. I paired this sapphire with a few (quite a few) brilliant diamonds. Smashing!
A few facts about Montana Sapphires-
- Montana produces nearly all of the sapphire in the United States.
- Montana’s rich history of gold and sapphire goes back to the late 1800s.
- Sapphire is the birthstone for those born in September.
- Sapphire is the second hardest natural mineral and gem with a Mohs factor of 9.0, so it is a perfect stone to enjoy in a ring.
