Description
This little Art Nouveau goodie came to me in an estate purchase. I converted it from a pin into a pendant by removing pin assembly from the back and adding a bar-style bale.
Known for it’s mystical and romantic mood, the Art Nouveau period brought us jewelry using flowing, undulating curves and a variety of flora and fauna. The soft color of the amethyst center stone, the carved leaves, the use of rose gold, and the small pearls (known as seed pearls because of their tiny size) are all styling from that time. Since the Art Nouveau design period lasted between 1890 and 1914, I estimate this piece to be well over 100 years old.
